CUB SCOUT AND BOY SCOUT ACTIVITIES

CUB SCOUT FIVE MILE HIKE OF OLD TOWN

Cub scouts, Webelos and their families are invited to hike five miles in Old Town to learn about early California history. This event fill one requirement of the Cub Scout High Adventure El Camino real Award. This event is scheduled for a Sunday in November.

CUB SCOUT RETREAT

The retreat focuses on the Cub Scout's relationship with God in his everyday life. The day's program consist of an oral presentation, crafts, nature activities and games. The retreat is scheduled on a Saturday in October.  

CUB SCOUT TOUR OF A MISSION

Each year a different mission is featured. The three missions visited on a three-year cycle are Mission San Diego, Mission San Luis Rey, and Mission San Juan Capistrano. Cub Scouts and their families learn about the role of the Catholic Church in the history of California. Attending this event also completes one-half of one requirement for the Cub Scout High Adventure El Camino Real Award. This event will probably be held sometime in March.

ANNUAL BOY SCOUT RETREAT

Boy Scouts and Venture Scouts are invited to share a weekend in January. Cost of the weekend includes a souvenir neckerchief.

DAY AT THE SEMINARY

Boy Scouts and Venture Scouts are invited to tour Prince of Peace Abbey to learn about vocations. The day consist of Mass, a tour of the Abbey, and lunch. It will probably be held in March.

SCOUTER DEVELOPMENT

Scouter development is a weekend experience for adults who work with Catholic youth in Scouting. The focus os the weekend is designed to help adults see that their efforts are an integral part of the Church's youth ministry. Usually held at the same time as the Boy Scout Retreat.
